Evergreen Living Innovation’s Apartments for Life

Evergreen Living Innovation’s Apartments for Life conceptual campus will provide a new model of "housing-with-services" for seniors including those considered low-to-moderate income. This new and highly desirable model of senior living will be cost effective, operating efficiently to provide a high quality of life and a lifestyle focused on wellness, that is very different from current retirement living options.

Additionally, this new model offers the government health care system a solution to the over demand expected as the Baby Boom generation ages. Finally, Apartments for Life eliminates an undesirable feature of most current systems – having to make multiple moves to access needed services.

Apartments for Life will provide an aging-in-place alternative where residents can live in the same apartment until the end of life. The community will feature efficient and sustainable design, integrate disease management and wellness into daily life and focus on person-directed choices. Each apartment home will have a living room area, kitchen facilities, a bedroom, and a bathroom where couples can also stay together even with different service needs. The community will provide a variety of services and dining options, community activities, a wellness center and a physician directed on-site clinic.

It will be located in Johnson County, KS on approximately 15 acres of land, have approximately 300 housing units and serve as a replicable model that will influence public policy and provide opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and partnerships.
